About Artist: Amy Gear's practice examines relationships to landscape – the touching points between place materials - where the sea meets the shore, where people meet place, where ideas meet reality. Her etchings are ‘finished sketches’ – works that as drawings are complete but as three-dimensional pieces are often yet to be realised. Gear’s work arches across a wide range of materials and techniques from printmaking, writing and sculpting to collaborative community projects. Amy Gear lives and works in Shetland.
