Ivor Abrahams

About Artist: Without the support of his parents, Abrahams funded himself through art school; he attended St Martin's School of Art and then the Camberwell School of Art. He was an apprentice at the Fiorini Art bronze foundry and subsequently a display artist for Adele Rootstein. Abrahams worked in London and travelled in his spare time to art galleries around Europe, he was then a lecturer in sculpture at the Birmingham College of Art and Coventry College of Art. Ivor Abrahams had his first UK show in 1960, with Peter Blake. Whilst working part time, he exhibited paintings and sculpture in one-man exhibitions in Europe, Scandinavia, New York and Toronto. His first exhibition in the USA was with the Richard Feigen Gallery in 1970.
