Jake Wood-Evans

About Artist: Based in Brighton and born in Devon, 1980, Jake Wood-Evans studied Fine Art at Falmouth University, winning the accolade of ‘Free Range’ Most Promising Graduate. Describing his work as; dark, light, delicate and aggressive, it is these perfect contradictions that make his work successful and much acclaimed. Jake Wood-Evans is always looking for subject matter; ‘it could be something very small that triggers off the excitement required to make a painting’. With oil his preferred medium, he states that oil gives him the most scope, with the painters he most admires using oil. A scholarship from the Royal Academy and an invitation to study at the prestigious Prado museum, Jake Wood-Evans is currently enjoying increasing recognition for his work.
