Lucien Lefevre

About Artist: Lucien Lefevre, born at Varennes in 1850 and died on an unknown date, but after 1902, is a poster artist and designer French. The life of Lucien Lefevre is, to date, very little known. He first studied industrial design and, perhaps, portraiture, before exposing the Salon of Independent in 1872 and 1873. He became a pupil of Jules Cheret, and primarily influenced by him, he began practicing the art of lithography in Chaix and acquired a reputation as a poster from 1890. It is in three issues of the magazine The masters of the poster (pl. 11, 55, 90). It remains active until 1902 and then lost his trail.
