Serena Perrone

About Artist: Serena Perrone was born in St. Louis, Missouri and grew up between St. Louis and Sicily. She majored in Painting, Art History, and French at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale. In 2006 she received her MFA in Printmaking from Rhode Island School of Design, concentrating on large-scale woodcuts and silverpoints. She is now an artist living in Philadelphia and exhibiting nationally and internationally. Most recently she has taught at Tyler School of Art, was a fellow with the Center for Emerging Visual Artists, and was a Philagrafika Invitational Portfolio Artist. Recent projects include works done while in residence at the Vermont Studio Center, All Along Press in St. Louis, and Ningyo Editions in Boston. Current shows include "Here and Now" at the Philadelphia Museum of Art and "Volcanoes and Voyages" at Cade Tompkins Projects. Her work is included in numerous public and private collections including Smith College Museum of Art, Rhode Island School of Design Museum, the Detroit Institute of Art, the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the Library of Congress, and the Whitney Museum of American Art. She is represented by Cade Tompkins Editions.
