Steven Scott

About Artist: There were no art classes but in his last semester of high school he happen to cross paths with a local artist who had a studio in her home where she taught people how to paint. But upon finishing his first painting his teacher turned to him and said, "You have a talent that you don't know you have." Because of this surprising discovery he decided to enroll in the art program at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff, AZ. He spent four years studying to be a painter but discovered that he also had a passion for all things design. He switched his major to graphic design and spent two more years completing his studies, eventually graduating in 1976 Upon graduating from college Steven returned to Minneapolis, MN and began his career as a graphic designer. After twelve years of freelancing for various corporations and small businesses he was discovered by the creative team at Target. He designed for Target for six years, creating art and illustrations, branding, new products and extensive package design. He was eventually offered the position of Creative Director of Packaging but wanted to continue his freelance business instead.
