About Artist: Werner Schrödl (born 1971 in Attnang-Puchheim, lives and works in Vienna) understands photography as a medium that unsettled our viewing habits, manipulated and changed our focus on the perceived reality. The photographic print is not just objectified time window that is frozen - "so it has been" by Roland Barthes - but a constructed situation as possible. Moments of irritating, enigmatic, and even uncanny one occur - there are visual spaces full of mystical atmosphere. Here, Schrödl served not fictional or surreal motifs and narrative threads but creates all of the existing reality. With great effort, the artist arranges the scenes that are captured on film or in photographs. There are always interventions in indoor or outdoor spaces when he manipulated about the forest Silhouette tree by extension, or a monumental balloon surrounds in the former hall of the Vienna Southern Train Station. It always plays a sculptural quality a parent note, albeit limited only temporarily, as in the case of harness extension, the storm fell a victim in a row. In the recent series allumstrahlende the light functions as a director on the scenario turns expansive landscapes, historic architecture and people in an event between dream and reality.
